Active, healthy, young-at-heart senior couple seeking house sitting in the Okanagan Valley, Vancouver Island or the Sunshine Coast,

We are seeking long-terms of 4-5 months, coinciding with Snowbirds travelling to warmer climates. I have cared for two couple's homes, after moving from the Okanagan to Alberta, the province of my birth, following the death of my husband. I sat one home from July 2016 to May 2018 and a second from September 2018 to April 2019. The second couple wanted me to return the following year but I remarried, so was unavailable.

Your home is your largest investment and finding the suitable couple to care for your home and possessions is critical. I am an immaculate house keeper - your house will be in excellent condition when you return.

I have known Carol for many years as a friend & confidante and more recently as a caretaker of our fully furnished home (July 2016 - March 31, 2017). She was in our large home (3,000 sq ft) in Alberta, Canada and took care of it as well as a large yard which was fully landscaped.

More recently, Carol has lived in our current home while we travelled for extended periods of time. She has proven to be not only reliable but totally honest and trustworthy.

Their willingness to take care of those in their community translates, I believe, to how they would care for their accommodations anywhere. Carol and Merv are people whose own home is meticulous and clean. You will not find them wearing shoes in their home or another!

They are people that think about others before themselves and ensure that others felt heard and respected, on top of, being generous in helping those in need. Carol is known to clean homes of the elderly and disabled in her community at no charge and has done this for as long as I have known her — 40+ years. Both Carol and Merv take great pride in their own personal home and routinely share the bounty of their food crops to others, among other charitable acts. You will not find more hard-working, dependable, respectful and, conscientious people than them. They enjoy their quiet time after dinner so I believe this would bode well with neighbours in the building. Merv and Carol are kind and gracious people — “salt of the earth” folk — who are well regarded in their community and families. You will not find better tenants than Merv and Carol, in my opinion.
