I love experiencing nature, caring for animals, and getting a feel for different lifestyles — especially rural or homestead settings I’m moving toward.

I’m someone who really values quiet, nature, and slower-paced environments, and I’m especially interested in house sits on acreage or with farm animals (even just chickens).

At home, I have three cats, a bearded dragon, and two aquariums, and I grew up with a dog — so caring for animals is just a normal part of my life, and something I really enjoy. I’m comfortable following routines and making sure animals are well looked after in their own space. I also have two gardens and around 60 rare houseplants, and I raise butterflies in the summer so I’m used to paying attention to care routines and keeping things healthy and thriving.

I’ve also traveled quite a bit over the years, which has made me comfortable adapting to different spaces and being mindful of living in environments that aren’t my own.

I live a pretty calm, low-key lifestyle and take responsibility for the spaces I’m in. You can expect your home and animals to be well cared for, and I’m happy to keep in touch while you’re away so you know everything’s going smoothly.

Read moreCaring for animals has always been a meaningful part of my life, and I have house-sitting experience with cats, dogs, and farm animals in both town and rural settings.

My recent sits have included household pets as well as a small farm with approximately 18 animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, three cats, and a dog. I’m comfortable following feeding and watering schedules, checking animals and enclosures, noticing changes in behaviour or appetite, and adapting to each animal’s needs.

I’m particularly comfortable with cats and enjoy caring for calm, easygoing dogs. At home, I have three cats, a bearded dragon, and two aquariums, so I understand the trust involved in leaving beloved pets in someone else’s care.

I’m especially drawn to smaller hobby farms and homestead-style properties, as I’m planning to create a similar lifestyle for myself.

I’m comfortable following routines, learning quickly, and caring for animals thoughtfully and responsibly. I genuinely enjoy the rhythm of animal care, quiet rural settings, gardening, and slower-paced living, and I approach every sit with a lot of attentiveness and respect for both the animals and the home.

Review

Julia left the house clean and organized. The indoor plants were watered. I know our cat Otis was well cared for. He was a bit of a nuisance waking up at 4 in the morning wanting to get out into the garden. I appreciated Julia telling us about this. I can highly recommend Julia as someone responsive and responsible to take good care of your pets and home.
