favoriteWhy I love house sitting

House sitting is a marvelous way to experience the beautiful scenery of our region and find new trails to explore.

I grew up in Victoria with my two childhood cats, Patches and Shaz, and now travel and house sit in and around Vancouver Island. I work remotely so can set myself up anywhere with good wifi. The majority of my recreational time is spent hiking in nature. I cherish peaceful living environments and am known for keeping a tidy home and my genuine care for your pet’s well-being.

Our cats took to Kylie almost immediately. Even Bailey who can sometimes be standoffish. We were/are delighted to have had her as our sitter and are looking forward to a time where we can have her back again.
Kiley has been an absolute pleasure to have as a house sitter! She is clean, thorough, detail oriented, observant and conscientious. She took amazing care of our 15 hens over a two month period. She made sure they were well fed (including lots of treats, which they loved!) and cleaned up after. She really got to know them and in turn, she is now a special human to them and they will miss her! Thankfully, she will be back again and I know they will be happy to see her and in very good hands. ... MoreKiley has been an absolute pleasure to have as a house sitter! What to say FIRST about Kiley! She was amazing. We felt so comfortable leaving our house, two cars and garden to Kiley. She was super diligent, communicated very clearly, and was very proactive. Aside from that, she is a wonderful human. We highly recommend Kiley to take care of your home and furry friends! We would not hesitate to reach out to Kiley to ask her to housesit for us again. Kiley was hands down the best house sitter we've ever had. She was extremely communicative and thorough, and handled an unfortunate unexpected issue that came up with one of our cats with complete attentiveness and care. Knowing she was looking after our 4 cats was such a peace of mind. She followed instructions and asked for clarification when needed. She sent timely updates and photos. This was our first experience with a house/dog-sitter and we feel so lucky that we found Kiley. I was nervous about leaving our dog, but Kiley quickly put me at ease. She took amazing care of our high energy, excitable, and strong-willed golden retriever with hip dysplasia. She kept her safe, took her on lots of adventures, and bonded with her in a lovely way. We appreciated occasional check ins and photos of the bonding that was taking place. All our plant starts were growing and ready for the garden when we returned. We also had to ask her to oversee a house maintenance repair in our absence and she was completely amenable to scheduling our electrician. We look forward to leaving our house and ... Kiley and her partner were wonderful cat/housesitters. Kiley is kind and thoughtful and communication with her was clear and easy. She came early to meet our cat and get familiar with her routine. She is friendly and easy to chat with. She left the house spotless and even kindly left some treats. I recommend Kiley for your house and petsitting needs!
Kiley was wonderful to deal with and she took loving care of our home and allllllll the critters. We would have her stay again anytime! So blessed to find people like her to make our trips stress free.

Kiley cared for and stayed in-house with our two demanding indoor cats and large rural home for 3 1/2 weeks in Dec 2023. Our cats were relaxed and content when we returned home. They were very comfortable with Kiley and as such, were very demanding of her attention. Her kind attention to their care and amusement was first rate. She sent us updates and photos while we were away which was very reassuring. Kiley is responsive, communicative, mature, responsible, independent, pleasant and kind. ... Kiley is a lovely person and fabulous house sitter. We have a big garden, chickens, and a rescue cat that all require a lot of care. Kiley did an excellent job and it was so welcoming to return to our clean, peaceful and well-cared for home. We highly recommend her.
