My wife, Penny, and I are retired, active travellers willing to go anywhere, anytime. We owned our own house for 30 years where we raised our 3 children (and some of their kids for a while too).

I worked in the IT industry for 25 years progressing from programming all the way to senior management in a major Canadian retail chain. At 47 I changed careers and started a home renovation company, leveraging my many years of maintenance experience on my own house. After 15 successful years I retired and we sold our house so we could have the freedom to travel extensively.

In 2022 we sailed on a luxury cruise to Antarctica, explored the Civil War battlefields in Pennsylvania and Maryland, walked on beaches in Mauritius and explored the wilds of Uganda and South Africa.

Penny is an active gardener, expert baker and adoring grandmother to our 4 grandchildren. We keep ourselves in good physical condition, going to the gym regularly, hiking, golfing, biking, etc. We have decades of experience with dogs, cats, fish, birds, rodents and anything else our kids wanted to include in our family.

We have been house sitting full-time since May 2023. We have almost 20 5 star reviews on Trusted HouseSitters and Housesitters America.

All our homeowners have said how impressed they are when they return. Their pets are happy and well cared for and their properties and clean and neat. We communicate promptly and update homeowners with regular status reports. We want people to have worry-free vacations, knowing their homes and pets are in good hands.

Mike and Penny are confident and very experienced house sitters. We really appreciated that they squeezed in a pre-sit home visit into their busy schedule in order to meet them and go over details. We had two sets of sitters overlap during our absence and they seamlessly transitioned with our first sitters which was a huge relief. Great communication and care throughout the stay. It was a pleasure having them and we are very grateful.
Mike and Penny were fantastic guests, our house and cats were well cared for.

Mike and Penny were wonderful house sitters! Our dog Willie loved them and I am sure misses them. All our plants look well loved and they left our home in great condition. We have a close community here and all our dog park friends said they saw them on Willie's daily walks. They even took him on a few outings. Mike & Penny were very nice to work with. Right from the start the communication was good. Prior to arrival we had sent the house instructions to them (we have a dog, cat and 2 large koi/goldfish ponds). Upon our return, all looked correct: the house was clean (despite the shedding of our dog). There were no incidents or problems with the house or alarm system. Mike & Penny are reliable and responsible and we would use them again should the occasion arise.
