We are a Vancouver-based married couple who love to travel for time away; often together, and sometimes separately. We co-own a home with friends that also we sometimes rent out, so we know a lot about taking good care of spaces, and are well-aquatinted with being respectful of neighbours and treating homes like our own (just as we hope people will treat ours!). Christine and Andrew were absolutely amazing house/pet sitters! Being home owners themselves they took exceptional care of our property - in fact (and of course on a Saturday morning of a long weekend) a leak developed in our ceiling. Rather than just asking us who to call, Andrew crawled up into the attic, diagnosed and fixed the problem himself! They communicated with us frequently with pictures and updates of our pets. Our dog requires medication which Christine easily administered and our ... MoreChristine and Andrew were absolutely amazing house/pet sitters! Rather than just asking us who to call, Andrew crawled up into the attic, diagnosed and fixed the problem himself! They communicated with us frequently with pictures and updates of our pets. Our dog requires medication which Christine easily administered and our escape artist cat Oreo kept them on their toes but they managed to learn his ways and keep him safely inside at night. To top it off we returned to a clean and tidy house, perhaps even tidier than when we left it. We can only hope to have them back!

Andrew and Christine looked after our house, garden and our 14 chickens for 9 days while we were away. They arrived the night before we left so we could show them our property and routine. They were both very attentive and asked questions when needed. By the time we left, we felt very comfortable leaving them in charge of our little homestead. While we were gone they communicated with us daily, letting us know how our garden and hens were doing. They sent pictures of our girls (Andrew is an ... They sent pictures of our girls (Andrew is an accomplished chicken photographer!) and let us know when the neighbourhood deer had enjoyed some of the plants that they assumed we had planted exclusively for them! We came home to a clean and tidy home which we were very grateful for. We wouldn’t hesitate to have them back again! They were great!

Goldie was extremely happy to be cared for by Christine - and especially thrilled when Andrew was there as well! They kept me informed as to how Goldie was doing and they were vigilant to report anything usually with her, even when it turned out to not be significant (a little scratchy neck, a brief loss of appetite and drooling, etc). I returned home to a spotless apartment (with a new battery in a smoke detector - thanks guys!) and Goldie was sad to see them leave! We both hope that they will ... Christine took in stride the problems that would have thrown most people: a cat recovering from a mystery illness, a plumbing problem in the main bathroom, an ant invasion, plus other quirks of a 135-year-old house. Regular communication assured me that ultimately everything was fine. I felt completely confident in her care of our beloved kitties and her common sense approach to problem-solving. We came home to happy cats and house. I would definitely welcome Christine again into our home!
Our experience with Christine and Andrew was fantastic. They are truly interested in our animals and did a wonderful job. There was quite a bit to do we had our dairy cow to be fed and a horse plus the chickens needed to be tended to and the 4 house cats. Two of the kitties get meds too. They were well prepared and ready to homestead while we were away. They checked on the property on their walks and the other animals. I would recommend them in a heart beat. Christine and Andrew were GREAT! Our little four-footed family in the country received lots of love from these two. We were so pleased with our daily updates, including photos 😊. Both are so caring and gentle with our beloved animals and our home. They followed all of our instructions and we came home to happy critters and an immaculate house, what a treat.
