I love being with animals so that is number one! But, I also enjoy the peace of mind I can give a home and pet owner knowing their home and loved ones are safe and well cared for while they are away.

About me:

I am a healthy, mature, reliable and warm individual. My career background has been in daycare, teaching (elementary school) and many years working as a mental health professional.

I am officially retired, but am working on my laptop on a self-initiated creative project in the field of mental health and personal growth.

I love pets, have had several of my own through the years, and pet-sitting gives me a way to enjoy pets while having a freer lifestyle not tied to one locale. ... Read moreAbout me:

I love pets, have had several of my own through the years, and pet-sitting gives me a way to enjoy pets while having a freer lifestyle not tied to one locale. (I currently live in a house in the Glebe with a former neighbour, as both of our spouses have recently moved on, mine to long-term care.)

My experience:

I have provided many house and pet sits to home and pet owners over the past several years, and have thoroughly enjoyed them!! I took a break for a few years while assisting an elderly person who needed 24/7 at-home care, but am currently once again available.

At this time I am seeking a sit in the Ottawa area. I am able to visit and meet in person with home owners and their pets ahead of time to make sure all details of the sit are set up and well-organized beforehand as needed.

Teri is a true gem. She treated my house as her own; she went out of her way to clean a carpet which had salt from the winter. She took careful note of any changes to my cat’s behaviour and communicated it clearly.
Teri was very caring with my senior cat who took to her immediately. Communication was excellent and she left my house and garden in better shape than I left them. I highly recommend Teri!
Teri has been one of the best experiences with house sitters. She took great care of our cat and the house, which we found very clean on our return. She is a serious and reliable person, and we hope to have her again.

During our recent trip overseas, we invited back Teri after an excellent house sit she did for us in February. If possible, it worked out EVEN BETTER this time! Teri is a caring person who clearly loves pets. You don’t have to take it from us, get the review directly from our dog, Yana! Upon Teri’s arrival at our home, Yana went nuts greeting her! She was SO happy to see Teri that she kept running around her making her happy noises. That was a heartfelt endorsement. Teri took great care of ... Teri was a perfect guardian for our dog Yana. She was loving, attentive and dedicated. She gave Yana superb outings, including long walks and lots of play time. She sent us photos to warm our heart (every pet owners love this) and often they included snapshots of Yana sleeping on Teri's lap! Moreover, Teri took great care of our house and plants. Everything was spic and span when we returned home. We cannot rate her highly enough. If ever she applies to take care of your pet, snap her up!
This was our first time using Housesitters and our first time leaving our anxious pup for so long. Teri was exceptionally kind and calm and affectionate with our dog. She always responded quickly when we texted her, and took incredible care of our house and our dog. It was winter so there was no garden care but she did water our inside plants as requested. We would highly recommend her.
It was great to have Teri take care of our house and cat. I’d definitely have her back.
Teri was a very sweet woman. The communication with her was very comfortable and easy. Even with the time differences she answered quite fast whenever I asked about my pets. She sent me pictures of my dog and cat and quick updates about their whereabouts. I felt very secure knowing she was with them.

She took such good care of my place and my cats that I wondered if they missed her more than appreciated having me home! I would highly recommend Teri. Teri took excellent care of my condo and my pet during my travels. Communication was always quick and efficient. She has been flexible with working with my future travel plans and I sure that Frankie (cat) is looking forward to having Teri back to look after him during my next extended trip.

Terri is a lovely person who took great care of our two dogs and fish. The dogs were out and about with Teri and looked like they had a great time. Teri left the house neat as a pin. We would definitely ask Teri to house sit for us when we travel again.
