I am seeking a Winter stay in Halifax, or perhaps Westport, ON. Christmas in Montreal is always magical too! I've had to sell my wonderful old money-eating house in Cape Breton: free to travel again.

Reliable and resourceful, I'm a friendly quiet person with clean habits and a healthy lifestyle ( non-smoker, vegetarian ). I have always sought out and enjoyed the company of animals, and the feeling seems to be mutual.

My first job as a member of the housesitting community was in rural Calgary, not far from my eldest son and his new family. Complete with 2 big dogs and 2 cats, that idyllic summer provided an auspicious start to a new life-style spanning almost a decade.

Since then, many pets in safe keeping have required extra special attention and/or medication. The animal care aspect of this job is much more rewarding than anticipated.

As a homeowner for over 30 years, I remain alert to negative changes in a building or landscape, prepared to troubleshoot, and confident in dealing with the trades.

Your home, plants, and most importantly, your pets, will be well taken care of so that you can really relax and enjoy your holiday.
Keeping in touch until you're comfortable is so easy these days; I will be available as you request.

Valerie house-and-cat sat for us for two weeks and was a fantastic sitter. The house was clean and well cared for, and our cat was happy and healthy on our return. Communication was very smooth and easy. Happy to recommend Valerie to anyone!

Valerie is an excellent house/pet sitter. She has done two sits for us now, six weeks and recently 11 days. Sunny was happy when we came home and the house was spotless. I highly recommend Valerie to take care of your home and pet.
Valerie did a last minute house sit for me and looked after Shelby my 27 yr old amazon parrot during my 5 weeks away.. Very grateful that she was able to do that. Shelby was well looked after, and my place was as I had left it. I can easily recommend Valerie as a house/pet sitter. Thanks Valerie.

Valerie stayed in our home and watered our garden for six weeks during the summer drought of 2023. We came home to a beautifully clean house and thriving garden. We recommend Valerie to take great care of your home.
Valerie is very nice and respectfull. The house was clean and my cat Café was very lucky to have such a great sitter for him.
It was such a pleasure having Val look after our home and our Bunno for three weeks over Christmas. Val is calm and completely capable. She took everything in her stride and kept in regular contact with us during her stay. She had Bunno figured out within the first week and our bun was relaxed and happy when we returned home. Thanks so much Val for making our time away so relaxing and carefree. You're welcome back anytime!

I recommend Valerie. Lovely person who took good care of our cats and house. It was so nice to return to a clean and tidy house - just as we left it. I have know Valerie for almost 2 months and in my experience, she is reliable and honourable. Five stars *****
