I love to house sit as it gives me the opportunity to travel and to experience living in other communities. I've been retired now for 13 years and have lived in Nicaragua, travelled to South America , Europe, Indonesia and South East Asia. I am a single woman but very comfortable with solo travel. I enjoy being around cats and dogs, they make the best companions!

Before retiring I worked as a Contracts Advisor for major Oil Companies such as Shell Canada and Talisman Energy. I raised two very successful children as a single mother and I am very proud of them both. I love a clean and tidy home, I am a non smoker and prefer a smoke free home.

I have references attached for your convenience as well as a police report for your peace of mind.. For my comfort of feeling at home, I prefer long term sits of 1 to 3 months but will consider shorter time periods as well.

Colette is extraordinary! This was her second sit for us. She cared for two cats who need special handling. An unexpected household problem occurred during her stay. Colette’s response was prompt and appropriate, limiting possible damage. She remained clear-headed and focused. Her communication with us was excellent. We trusted her with our home and beloved pets and she delivered.
We left for 5 weeks nervous about leaving our tiny teacup poodle who had recently had surgery and had never been away from us for more than a day. Collette is obviously a pro and communicated frequently and well with us reassuring us. We had an internet connectivity issue and she dealt with it very professionally. Our dog is now happy and bouncing with good health. We are so grateful.
We had Colette stay in our home for 2 months. She was impeccable with her care and concern for our home. Communication was excellent with very direct and detailed information always given. She was very capable of handling all the unexpected events that presented themselves. She will be missed by our neighbours too!! We would absolutely have Colette come back and stay in our home again.
Colette has been an amazing house sitter. Clean and punctual. I would love for Colette to look after our place and two dogs again!

Colette was as fantastic as she has been before. It is so nice to feel so comfortable with someone taking care of your house you are familiar with and trust. We got home to a very clean house with happy kitties.

Once again, a wonderful experience with Colette. She is a warm, caring person and along with that, super organized. She took care of any issues that came up and I came home to a clean home with everything in its place!! I value Colette and would have her housesit for me without reservation!!
Colette is an absolute gem. I am blessed to have had her take care of my two cats, and my apartment. She is totally reliable, resourceful (there was a water problem in my bathroom) considerate and respectful of her lodgings. I could not ask for more. My cats were totally 'normal' when I got home, the apartment was spotless, with clean sheets and breakfast food in the fridge. We communicated easily during my trip and I felt 100% confident that everything was perfect. I cannot recommend her ... MoreColette is an absolute gem. Colette came to my home to look after my cat while I was away. I was lucky to have her as a house sitter. She did an excellent job. She communicated with me promptly when I wrote to her. She took great care of my cat and my home. I arrived home to a happy cat and a spotless home. I would be delighted to have her as a house sitter at any time.
Colette came for 2 weeks to look after our small farm and did a fantastic job with the animals here. No small task as we have around 23 fur and feathers! All the animals were happy and healthy when we returned even our potbelly pig! Colette left our home spotless! I would definitely recommend Colette for your housesitting needs!

We were super pleased with Colette and that she helped us last minute after someone had to cancel. We had a video chat and then a meet and greet before. She updated us regularly and we felt very comfortable and trusted that our dog, Buddy and place were in good hands, when we were away. Our place was immaculate upon our return, Strongly recommend. Colette is a gem! She stayed in my house for close to 3 months and I came home to a sparkling clean house with all kinds of extras. She shoveled snow, she engaged with neighbours and kept in touch with me regularly. She is a warm, kind soul and I would (will!) have her housesit for me again without hesitation. Colette is a gem!
I can’t recommend Collette highly enough. We started with excellent communication and great questions that made me feel confident and comfortable leaving my older dog in her care. I received frequent updates and photos during her stay. I returned to a very clean home Rating 10/10

Colette looked after our house & old cat for two & a half months & did a wonderful job. She sent us updates & photos of our mail, phone msgs & of course our cat. When we arrived home Colette had vacated & our house was spotless. What a treat after flying for 16.5 hrs and being worn out. We would not hesitate to ask Colette for any future housesitting. Great service, great person!
Only one word to describe Colette. Amazing!!!! Would highly recommend Colette. A pet lover at heart....great communication and our home was lovingly looked after. Amazing! This was our first experience with Housesitters, and we are more than impressed. Colette is extremely respectful, communicates well, and provided our three cats with amazing care. (In fact, I think they now prefer her over us?) We were very comfortable with her overseeing our place. She treated our home as her home - very well cared for and she has set the bar on excellence. We were blessed to have her for such an extended stay!
Colette was a great house sitter. We cannot say enough about how well she looked after our place. During Colette's stay at our home we were selling the house, this can be a stressful time for anyone with short notice viewings and the like. The house sold in a large part due to how well it showed . Our realtor was very impressed with the cleanliness and flexibility in showing. Neighbours formed lasting friendships and were sad to see her leave. Thank you Colette we will keep in touch,

Collete stayed in our house with our dog Meli.She was very caring and took great care of her.She also took care of the house and it was nice and tidy when we got home.Collete has a very even and calm personality which was perfect for our energetic dog.We highly recommend her for house sitting with a pet.

In no time at all she arranged expedited delivery and resolved a difficult situation. Colette was a good communicator, both during the process of arranging the housesit and while we were away. This is the first time my husband and I used Canada House Sitters Canada, as we usually have found pet/house sitters through family contacts, so we wondered how using a service would suit us. We are very pleased with the service and the ability to find Colette there. Colette has been wonderful from the beginning and we feel like we have a new friend. Communication with Colette was always prompt. We were away for three months so we appreciated the photos and updates about our cats on a regular ... This was wonderful as we knew they were happy and well taken care of. Colette was also so very helpful sending us some legal papers that arrived after we had left that needed to be copied and sent internationally. She also picked up additional medication and food for the cats that I had not estimated correctly for during our long absence. Unfortunately for her we had one of the worst winters ever and she had to shovel walks continuously but in her good natured way took it all in stride. When we got home the house was spotless and our kitties were healthy and content. We can't say enough good things about Colette. We would love to have Colette back and would definitely recommend her to anyone wishing a caring, thoughtful and thorough sitter.

Usually, we have found our sitter by word of mouth, but this year we used this service and we fortunate to find Colette. When we contacted her 'mid-sit' to see if we could extend our stay, she quickly assured us it was okay with her. When we returned, the house was immaculate and the cats were so clearly happy and ...
