About Me

Hi, we're Dianne and John Burns, an active, retired couple in our mid sixties. We're non-smokers, and experienced house sitters (since 2009). With more than 30+ sits we are often asked back for a second, third or fourth housesit and as a result very proud of the trust and confidence shown by the amazing homeowners we now consider friends.

We're passionate about house and pet sitting and believe it's a win/win situation for the homeowner, housesitter, and more importantly the pet(s).

We take care of your home and pets with pride and professional dedication while you're on vacation or away on business, whether it's for a week or longer.

We do not charge for our services as the opportunity to experience life as a local with free accommodation is payment enough. Of course, any purrs, licks, meows and barks we receive from your beloved pet(s) is icing on the cake!

WHO WE ARE: We're former high school sweethearts, married 30+ years, active, retired, and non-smokers. We're well-traveled (26 countries to date) and Canadian--eh! Being homeowners ourselves, we understand the importance and value of knowing your house, possessions and pets are safe and secure during your absence.

WHAT WE DO: We reside in your home each day, and more importantly, every night you're away. Providing a "lived-in" appearance is crucial for the security and safekeeping of your property.

We walk, feed, coddle and cuddle your pets. We'll maintain plants, gardens and yards, collect mail, put out the trash, and provide you with frequent online updates as requested.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN: One simple request in 2009 to housesit for friends transpired into a dozen separate housesitting assignments for that same couple. We realized how much we enjoy it, as well as how well we're suited to the housesitting lifestyle. Branching out across Canada and around the globe as housesitters was a no-brainer.

Peace of mind while you are away from home begins and ends with TLC INTERNATIONAL HOUSESITTERS.

*FREE: House sitting is usually free, for both sitter and house owner, although this is completely up to the individuals. There are usually some costs that need to be covered by either the sitter or the house owner e.g. electricity, phone usage, vet fees etc. How these costs are handled needs to be agreed before the sit begins. House sitters pay a single annual membership fee, while house owners pay nothing to advertise their house or to contact sitters.
