Medicine Hat Alberta

We are recently retired teachers who love our pets and traveling. We are looking for a mature person or couple to take care of our house as well as 2 cats. From the pictures you can see we have 2 dogs, but they are going somewhere else for this sit so it’s only the cats. They will need to be fed, brushed and played with daily. There are two litter boxes that need to be scooped each day. Depending on the time of year, there might need to be some snow removal or lawn mowing. Also we need people who don't mind sleeping with pets. I leave detailed instructions about their food and routines.

Medicine Hat is a small city of about 68,000 people. It has a desert micro-climate. In the summer you can see wild cactus and rattlesnakes and experience temperatures in the high 30’s. In the winter the weather is unpredictable ranging from Chinooks (mountain winds that push the temperatures way above freezing) to temps in the -20s. They say we get more hours of sunshine/year than any other Canadian city. We are a 3 hour drive southeast of Calgary on the TransCanada Highway and 4.5 hours from world famous Banff.

We are close to a Costco and
Co-op grocery store. We are on the edge of the city so you will see lots of deer and wild bunnies. There are many walking paths near us and the beautiful river valley is within walking distance. Our house has two gas fireplaces, a gas grill, as well as Netflix, Apple TV and Prime, in addition to cable tv for your enjoyment. When we’re away we always have one of our cars with us leaving you a spot for your car in our garage. No problem if you bring a camper that needs to be plugged in. If you fly in we’ll pick you up at the airport.
