Nicoletta & Paul

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to getting to know us.

We have recently retired from our busy careers running our own business and are the proud parents of two marvellous young men--we are ready for the next adventure in our life!

Our philosophy is that you are never too old to learn something new and to go out there and explore. We are truly enjoying this phase of our life, exploring new and exciting opportunities that put a spring in our steps and a smile on our faces while we are still young-ish, capable and strong!

We are very active and enjoy the outdoors (rain or shine), and have traveled significantly in our 30 years together. We love good food (Paul is a Chef by training), immersing ourselves in the culture of the places we visit, while able to converse in English, French, Italian and Spanish. At the end of a busy day, we are happy to sit and relax reading a good book, watching a movie or have stimulating conversations with friends and family.

Nicoletta is also particularly interested in volunteering abroad, putting into good use her people's skills, refined in many years working in the hospitality business, and as a chance to keep the languages she speaks active. She considers this as chance to be part of the "global village" and has just completed a one month stay in Mexico (November 2022).
Paul has rediscovered his love for ice hockey after it being a passion in his youth, and enjoys taking his bike out for long rides.

We see house and pet-sitting as an opportunity of being of service. We strongly believe that animals are sentient beings and treat them with patience, respect and lots of affection, and feel honoured when the owners entrust us with their pets.

OUR EXPERIENCE

Nicoletta's father has always kept hunting dogs and, starting at the age of 10, feeding and cleaning up after them was a task reserved to her.
As a couple we have owned cats, chickens, a crested gecko and the occasional beta fish, and have enjoyed other people's dogs (playing, walking, cuddling).
Years ago we adopted two 15-year-old cats that kept us company for 4 years. Afterwards we adopted a kitten, an adorable mini panther who is now 6 years old. In 2020 we acquired a few laying hens--we get much joy seeing them frolicking in our backyard (our sons will take care of them while we house sit).

We have owned our house that sits on half an acre for 23 years and are comfortable with gardening and landscaping maintenance. We love growing our own vegetables and fruit and would keep your garden producing and your flowers blooming while you are away.
