Senior Explorer

COVID-19 update for 2022
The rules are changing and I will follow any new rules that may come. Usually I prefer to arrive a day early to give the pet(s) a chance to get used to my presence in the house, If you prefer we can work out my arrival and your departure within a few hours of each other. Who would have thought that we are still dealing with the pandemic in 2022?! I never expected to announce that I did get vaccinated, but there you have it: I am fully vaccinated against the Corona virus.

Active senior explorer who is responsible and reliable wants to house sit for you and give your pets loving care.

You may wonder..

Does she have experience looking after the house and pets?
You bet! I was a manager in the hospitality industry where a clean house and attention to detail is extremely important. For many years I was on the board of a housing co-op and dealt with planning, maintenance, and repairs.
Friends and family have entrusted the care of their pets to me. I stayed at their home or their pet stayed with me.
I will leave your house in the same state as it was when you left.

Is she trustworthy?
The local bank and the clients trusted me! I worked for over 15 years for a large Canadian bank, had to be bond-able to work at a bank. I also appreciate the importance of privacy.

Can I trust her with my pets?
Yes, I have experience.I have owned a few dogs during my life from small to larger size, and cats too. I have been a relief dog sitter for the local Autism Dog Service group for many years. Usually larger dogs.
While on a dog sitting assignment I had to nurse a miniature Poodle after two major and serious operations, never knowing if she would survive, administering medications every few hours for several weeks. I hadn't exactly signed up for that, but this sweet dog was not going to die on my watch. She has completely recovered and is again a happy and healthy dog.

Why would she want to do this?
I love to experience new places from a resident's perspective and explore. What better way to do that then walking your dog?
House sitting is a great way of slow and sustainable travel, explore and help out with house-and pet-sitting so that you can travel without worries.

A few more things about me:
I am a healthy senior living an active lifestyle. A lifelong cyclist, was on the executive of a local cycling club. I like taking long walks and I am perfectly content spending time at home reading and listening to music, also guilty of some binge watching of Netflix. Non-smoker.
Valid D/L, clean driving record. Police check? Done.
References? Yes.
My home base is in Ontario.

When I have finished a house sit I will give my endorsement and as a matter of courtesy I expect your endorsement in return.

My experience as a pet and house sitter has been very positive and I now start to have repeat pet and house sits and referrals.
Thank you to all who trusted me with your pets and your homes, I feel so honoured to do this.

Paula was absolutely amazing. She took fabulous care of Duchess and communicated with me frequently while I was away and included many photographs of Duchess. I could tell by the pictures and how Duchess was so relaxed and uninhibited that she was having a great time with Paul and was very happy. I would love to have Paula take care of Duchess again.
JOANNE (44 St. Joseph Street Suite 1002 , Sep 2021 - 3 weeks)
Thanks so much Joanne. I'll be happy to look after Duchess again!
Paula was just a dream house sitter. We met beforehand a few weeks before her house sit, which was lovely. She asked detailed questions about the pets, their needs, and her upcoming stay. She is very safety conscious regarding the pets which I really appreciated. Paula also left the house in cleaner shape than we left it, going above and beyond what she needed to do when handing our house back. She was in touch with us during our stay but not in a way that was too frequent- communication was ... MORE
MICHELLE ( Ontario, Aug 2020 - 1 week)
Thank you Michelle for your trust in me.
Paula was a blessing for us and Poncho. Not only did she take perfect care of our precious old puppy, but the house was impeccable. Paula kept us up to date regularly with photos and anecdotes of their walks and adventures in Montreal. I would recommend her without hesitation. She is caring and attentive, delicate, calm, clean and organized. No doubt she will be visiting us again. Highly recommended!
MAGALI ( Quebec, Dec 2019 - 3 weeks)
Thanks Magali and Valeria for the wonderful review. Hoping to meet you and Poncho again in Spring! Thanks, Paula
No rating I can't begin to say enough about Paula. From our initial correspondence to our face to face meeting, I felt completely confident that I had chose the perfect House/Dog Sitter. She researched the dogs to find out what types of personalities she would be dealing with, which impressed me immensely. Her care and concern for our dogs was second to none. They were her top priority. Upon our return from holidays, our house was immaculate and our dogs were obviously well taken care off. After ... MORE
