We are Kiwis NZ both retired visiting Vancouver in Summer of 2025. We are trusted full time house sitters in New Zealand & Australia.
We would like to spend time with our niece and family friends next summer who all live in Vancouver. However, we would like to give them some privacy as well, so we decided to look for any housesitting opportunity.
Please that we don't charge any money in exchange of free accommodation. We have been to Vancouver already in April 2023, so we don't have to do a lot of sightseeing. We just want to experience to be local.
We are non-smokers, considerate, live a quiet life (happy to sit at home and watch TV or read most nights) and promise to take very good care of your home while you're away. We adore animals and would love to look after your pets. We allowed pets to sleep on our bed.
We had pets - do9s & cats for over 20 years. We're hoping that house-sitting will give us a chance to reconnect with pets before we decide to have our own again.
And if you don't have a pet, we can simply look after your garden or the security of your home.
We like to stay fit and healthy, and our hobbies include going for long walks, explore and playing outdoor bowls in NZ/Aussie. We plan to travel extensively in the years ahead and thought that house sitting would be a good option in between our travels.
Over the years we have been homeowner, landlord and tenants- and always treat a property with the same TLC and respect whether it belongs to ourselves or someone else. Maxe loves to clean - you won't be disappointed in the state of your house when you return home from your trip.
We won't need a car -- we preferred to be near public transport like bus or train. And also, during summer we would like to access any cooling appliance like Aircon or electric fan.
We can provide a reference from Vancouver and clean criminal records from NZ.

Max and John took really good care of our boy Kenzo while we were away for 3 weeks. They kept us informed of everything while we were away, which gave us peace of mind. Kenzo certainly loved all the walks and care they provided.

We were so pleased to find the house in a beautiful condition and our cats relaxed and happy with Maxi and John. There primarily questionnaire was very detailed and professional which helped for day to day running of our house. Overall we would love to have them back for future house sitting. Maxe and John are a delightful couple -we were so lucky to find them. The cats were so disappointed when we got home, as they had been spoiled, both with attention and treats. Maxe sent plenty of pics of them having a lovely time. A totally professional and capable couple, with a great sense of fun, and we look forward to having them back in the house soon. John and Maxe looked after our home and dog for a week with no issues whatsoever.
The dog certainly enjoyed his walks, plenty of update pictures and would be happy to have them for longer next time.
Maxe and John, are the best pet sitters we could have ever hoped for. They are kind and very respectful. They totally understood our dogs temperament and were very caring when he got sick. Their communication was great, we were kept up to date with vets visits.
Our dog was walked regularly and extremely well looked after.
Our dog sleeps on our bed and they were also happy for him to continue doing so on their bed!

Tanner is suffering from an injury and they. monitored her condition very closely and kept us informed and provided excellent care and attention to her.
