I love nature, cats, dogs, gardening, and quiet places. I treat other people's homes like my own house: keeping it tidy, being responsible, and caring for animals - both cats and dogs. I love dog-walking - at least two or three times a day. My beloved dog 'Bentley' died a year ago, and my cat shortly after. Now I have lots of time on my hands...
House-sitting can be any time from 3 weeks to 7 months, preferable from September to late April anywhere in the world.
I am a passionate traveler - North America and Europe mostly. Since I am retired I have time to read, write even more books, enjoy gardening, And taking care of dogs, cats, and houses.
I am retired, living a quiet life, so with no smartphone or other gadgets/knowledge of the latest online office meetings : ) Only exception is Facetime. However, I am always answering emails on the same day.

We were so happy to have Doris-Maria take care of our house and our three cats. We could spend 5 totally carefree weeks on holidays and on coming back we found a wonderfully organized house, three happy cats who quite visibly adored her. Doris-Maria quickly found her way around the house and in the city, she is such an interesting person to exchange with and she finds solutions whenever there is an unusual situation.
We very warmly recommend her for both: house sitting and pet sitting !

Doris-Maria left my house sparkling clean and even replaced some food items that had aged-out while I was away, so I have fresh milk and eggs. She seems very kind and caring. My cat was quite unfriendly to her, alas, only deigning to let her pet him a couple of times. I don't know how to convince him that his life would be better if he wasn't so snooty! My only issue with Doris-Maria is that she doesn't have a phone -- she communicates only via email - and replies right away.

Doris was a wonderful sitter - she adored our cat Fezz and cared for our house perfectly.
Communication lines were open throughout the sit and were very much appreciated.
We would welcome Doris again.
Doris-Maria was an excellent fit with our cat and dog. They all seemed to get along well together. Thank you for a very good job.
Doris is the most lovely lady and so interesting if you have a minute to have a conversation. The cats didn't even need to warm up to her; she has an energy that they immediately knew was safe. A very caring woman, lots of good communication, highly recommend :)
Doris-Maria took excellent care of cats and house, was great at communicating before and during the sit and was overall a pleasure to work with.
We decided that Doris would arrive a few days before our departure date so she could get to know Percy our Chihuahua. They became friends in a few days as Percy takes a bit to warm up to new people. Our little boy Percy had the time of his life with Doris and we felt so lucy to recieve regular emails and even photos of our dog while we were away. It was my first time using this site and having someone stay in our home and Doris was the perfect fit. We felt very comfortable leaving on our vacation knowing she was there for our animals and home . She came for a visit a week before leaving to meet us and our animals which I really appreciated. and we came home to happy cats, dogs, chickens and rabbits and couldn't have asked for more. I would recommend Doris and have her stay again any time! Thanks so much!
Doris was fantastic! She communicated with us on a regular basis ensuring us that Jack and Coco were happy and well and she included pictures of them and we could just see how content they were! Doris walked the dogs 2 - 3 times daily. Upon our return the dogs were happy, the house was clean, bed stripped and an amazing lunch was prepared for us including homemade seafood chowder and schnitzel. I would not hesitate to have Doris back and I know Jack and Coco would love it too!!
Doris was a wonderful house sitter! She was great to communicate with leading up to my vacation and even dropped me at the airport. She also sent cat pictures while I was away and left food for my when I returned, which was very sweet of her! My cat Barley surely had a great time and the house was clean when I returned. I would be happy to host her again.
Doris was my very first sitter through a housesitting organization, and also for the longest sit (4 weeks, plus 6 days prior to my departure). I had just adopted my 8 yr old dog (Hiccup) 1 month prior to Doris' arrival, and was so happy to find someone who was interested in just staying home (she was working from home) and enjoying Hiccup's company.

To anyone who was an AMAZING House/Pet sitter.. Doris was my house-sitters for a month and also had the responsibility of looking after my 2 spoiled cats. During this time she made the effort to get to know the personalities of the animals and gave them not only care but companionship and reassurance while I was away. I got pictures of them often. We are so pleased with the care Doris gave our home and our dogs. It was lovely getting to know her. She was great at communicating with us regularly and was attentive to all the things that needed to be shared before we left. It's alway hard leaving your pets for a long stretch of time, but I was comforted knowing she there and they were well looked after.
I can't say enough about our excellent experience with Doris as our housesitter. Not only did she maintain excellent communication, both before, during and after our trip, but she also provided a wealth of information to help me with my future small business. Our animals received excellent care and were truly sad when she left. She welcomed us home with a much-needed snack and meals for the next two days! What a gem!
We were so fortunate to get Doris-Maria to pet sit and house sit for us this fall & winter! Even though our plans changed a bit, and hers changed a lot, it worked out perfectly for both of us!
