Rachel & Rosemary

We're a mother and daughter duo who have decided to pursue house-sitting full time, out of a mutual love for exploration and adventure. We lived in Japan together for almost 20 years, and have since developed a best-friend relationship. We're reliable, trustworthy, and friendly. My mother (Rosemary) is currently a self-employed ESL English teacher and teaches online, and I (Rachel) work in customer service, and part time as a freelance Japanese - English translator.

In our spare time, we enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, and paddle-boarding, as well as exploring the local town, and finding delicious pastries. We enjoy making connections with fellow people and pets of the house-sitting community! :)

We're early sleepers and early risers and non-smokers!

We've cared for cats, dogs (including a puppy), gardens, and homes. We discovered the idea of house-sitting when our couple-friends would ask us look after their two Chihuahua's while they were away for a week here and there. For these two pups, we have experience mixing medicine into their food during meal time.

Now as full time house-sitters, we have gained experience younger pets, older pets, and large dogs. We took care of a friendly and energetic Cockapoo puppy who required lots of play time and walks. And, we've experienced the chiller side of life after taking care of a very sweet, very sleepy 16 year old cat.

We take as much care of the house as we do the pets, including gardens. While we certainly aren't professional gardeners, we've managed to keep house plants, a yard, and a perennial garden alive during our stay. We pride ourselves on always leaving any home we house-sit in as we found it, while respecting any rules the homeowners have in place. To that end, we've even gone vegetarian for a three month house-sit out of respect for the homeowners' rules.
