II live in Powell River BC Canada. During the past year, I enjoyed a 2 month sit with a big orange cat in Vancouver, then again for a week with the same cat in the spring. Next came a 10 day sit for a sick dog and a talkative cat in Cumberland BC in July/August. Then back to Vancouver for a 3 week sit with a lovely little dog and a sick cat. Now I am sitting with two indoor sibling tuxedo cats, male has health troubles and the female is just an adorable little darling.
During the worst of COVID, I kept safe in Nova Scotia for 19 months. Some months on the Dartmouth side, the rest on Halifax side. 3 cats in each home. Then I relocated to the west coast. I had several short sits for a dogs and cats in Toronto, Quebec City and Vancouver.
For 15 years I was teaching internationally, I have experience as a home owner and as a tenant caring for goods, property, and pets. My hobbies and interests include, studying languages, writing, embroidering birds, reading, cycling and cooking, I am in good health and intend to stay that way.
I am seeking opportunities to live in areas of Canada where I might want to settle in and be at home.
I was France for 6 weeks, until Nov. 3, 2022 where there is a goat, 1 duck, 3 chickens, 12 geese, 2 cats and a dog! I cared for them all.

Deborah was a wonderful choice! While we were away there was some flooding in the kitchen, Deborah dealt with it all and sent us updates throughout. Couldn't recommend her enough.
From the onset we were confident that Deb would be a good match to our needs and that proved to be true.
Deb took excellent care of our senior cat Sunny which for us was our top priority. She sent occasional updates on Sunny's wellbeing that put our minds at ease.
We returned to find out home neat and clean. She is someone we would use again.
Deborah is a kind, determined and trustworthy person who does speak to animals! She did find our dog to be too large for her to handle under social circumstances, yet found ways to provide him with his daily exercise while enjoying the local natural landscapes. Our animals were happy and well taken care of, and the house plants had never looked so good!
Deborah was very conscientious in making sure that she was familiar with Gizmo’s routine and care prior to my departure…she took her own notes on top of the notes I left, and practiced giving Gizmo his eye drops at least a couple of times before I left. She also checked in with me every day, as requested, as Gizmo is an old fella with some medical concerns…she kept on top of any concerns diligently. Deborah sat for us for two weeks over spring break and returned home to a super tidy house. She took good care of the house and our cat Pinto. We especially appreciated her availability for communication and the short updates that she provided while we were away. We would recommend Deborah to anyone who is looking for a reliable and considerate pet and house sitter.
This house sit was the first time we used a long term house/pet sitter from a website. I have to say I felt comfortable doing so as our sitter had good references plus an RCMP record check and Deborah allayed any uncertainty we had by her performance and would like to have her back again. Our two cats took to Deborah immediately at our first meeting which is something they don’t usually do (& also our dog although we took the dog with us on our travels). Deborah was fantastic. She had to deal with some unpleasant experiences with the dog but never complained to me when she sent updates on Murphy and Finn. There aren't any set of circumstances that would preclude me from having her again. Thanks so much Deborah. You are the kind of sitter everyone wants!
Deborah was an absolute delight to have as a house sitter. Our cat had some health issues spring up right before we left for our trip and Deborah took on all the issues with ease. She sent updates and allowed us to travel on our trip with a lot less stress. She diligently looked after our plants and kept our home squeaky clean. Deborah and her husband were fantastic dog and house sitters. They were very detailed-oriented and wanted to know all the details of our dog's routine so they could give him the best possible care (and our beloved plants). They were very sweet to him and even won him over in a matter of days (a real accomplishment for our very grumpy greyhound). Deborah was a great cat/house-sitter - we have 3 gentle cats that are a big part of our family. Deborah arrived a couple days early to meet "the kids" and it was obvious she would be a loving and conscientious care-giver.
Deborah was easy to communicate with and did a fantastic job with both our fur kids and home. She sent regular emails updating us on "the kids" as well as a few photos. We even did some video-conferencing calls in which Deborah included all 3 cats.

Deborah was a wonderful house guest, and took fine care of our dog and cat while we were away. She sent multiple updates and pictures of the animals, and they both seemed content when we arrived home. The condo was quite clean, and plants were happy.
Make sure the garden and potted plants are thriving when you get back - get a house sitter.
