We are a mature, retired professional Canadian couple looking to housesit in Canada. We love animals and are dog owners with experience caring for many family pets over the years. We have fostered 18 cats and kittens as a foster home through involvement with a local cat rescue for the past 2 years.
We are flexible regarding housesitting locations and durations. We are clean, neat and quiet non-smokers and will have our own car to deal with any emergencies that may come up. Derek has had several police checks over the past 7 years in his capacity as a school bus driver.
We are an energetic, active couple who love to hike, and walk dogs. We will be happy to undertake practical maintenance of your home and garden.
Our 14-year-old Poodle-Wheaten Terrier cross, Jasmin, travels with us. She is a gentle old soul that is very used to meeting new cats and dogs. At this stage of life, she mostly sleeps her days away.

Linda and Derek recently house sat our 1 year old Border Collie. We spoke to them on the phone before they arrived and were very impressed by how easy going and committed to house sitting they are. Thrilled to pieces we chose Linda and Derek to house sit for us this time. It's always a bit daunting leaving your house and animals to people you have never met before, but we feel they were our friends before they even arrived here from Canada as we had been in constant touch prior to their arrival. Linda and Derek were very friendly and easy to communicate with. They did a great job looking after Balthazar and he seemed very content when we got back from our holiday. They left the house spotless. Highly recommended.
Linda and Derek were our first pet/house sitters and we could't have been more pleased! They took such great care of both Buddy and our home. Buddy enjoyed his twice daily walks with Linda, Derek and Jasmine! Our house was spotless when we came home and we even came home to some extra goodies in our fridge. Derek and Linda were just lovely. They stayed a night with us before we left and were enjoyable company. I came to a house that was cleaner than I left it and a contented cat. Linda had even made a batch of cupcakes for us.
Linda and Derek sat for us for 4 weeks Jan/Feb 2019 and we have absolutely no hesitation in recommending them to look after your house and pets.
The sit was confirmed 6 months in advance and we kept in touch by email before the sit.
On arrival it was clear they are animal lovers, especially Linda who couldn't wait to meet the animals in their care, they shared stories of their pets and experiences and at this point, I knew my furbabies were in good hands.
