Hi, we're Chris and Helen, an early-40s, outdoorsy, nature-loving couple on a 12-month career break from our busy professional lives back home in the UK.

Chris is a technical project/programme manager for Rolls-Royce where he leads a multi-million-dollar portfolio of engineering projects. Helen is a physiotherapy clinical lead, managing a team of physiotherapists and nurses.

We love the outdoors, nature and animals and we're very pet friendly. Helen has previously had a dog (who sadly passed away). Chris grew up looking after chickens, geese, ducks and guinea pigs, and has dog-sitting experience.

Most of our career-break year will be here in Canada, a country which we know very well and love dearly (Chris has Canadian Permanent Residence). We have spent a lot of time in BC in the past and want to get to know BC more, and we're also looking to explore other Provinces. We value "slow travel" - staying in one place long enough to really get to know it rather than being fleeting visitors.

We're quiet, considerate, clean and tidy people, respectful of others, we don't smoke and we travel light. We enjoy long walks, bike rides, skiing and being out on the water one way or another.

We know that entrusting your home and pets to a house-sitter is not something you'll undertake lightly and it's a responsibility we take very seriously. We've owned and lived in our own properties for many years which means we're familiar with the day-to-day responsibilities of looking after a house and home. We have a good deal of flexibility in our schedule and we're financially stable.

Looking for house-sits throughout the remainder of 2024 and into 2025.

Chris and Helen took good care of Themba and Topo for nearly 3 weeks. It was clear on our return that Chris and Helen had nurtured a positive rapport with our dogs. Topo knew they were about to depart, with suitcases moving from inside the house to the outside. Topo fixed her eyes on Helen, begging her to stay :-) Themba is more laid back, but he too feels their absence. The house was left in sparkling readiness for our return. Chris was amazing ! Took excellent care of our huge garden ( & my many houseplants) and our pets. Went the extra mile by taking our senior Chihuahua to the vet & making sure he was ok. Very good communication & lots of pictures of our garden & pets while we were away. Was sorry to not meet his wife Helen but there will be a next time ! 😊

Chris and Helen were ideal housesitters who took great care of our home, doggies & garden while we were out of the country for over a month. Chris and Helen kept us updated on how everything was going with regular photos and messages so we always felt comfortable that our home was in good hands.
