Ellis & Stephen

Hello! We are Ellis & Stephen, a young couple from the UK travelling Canada. We have been house/petsitting around the country and would love to continue meeting and looking after some furry friends along the way!

Our Experience

We have spent the last year housesitting in New Zealand and looking after a number of dogs and cats. The housesits varied in length from a week to over a month and included singular and multiple pets. They had various needs including ear drops and one vet visit during our time. We set up a weekly chat with the owners when they were away to send messages and pictures to keep them updated. We are happy to adapt to the needs of the house and animals including walks and exercise, cleaning, garden care etc.

We have a lifetime of experience caring for animals. Ellis has grown up with rescue dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, fish and cats. She got her first dog at age 5 and has not been without one since! She has spent many a holiday/long weekend dog sitting for friends and family in the last 10 years. Stephen has also been a lifelong pet lover, often pet sitting for family members and neighbours when required. We would love to have our own dogs one day when we settle down, but for now we would cherish the opportunity to love and adore your furry friends too.

About Us

Ellis is 27 from Leicestershire and works as an online tutor. She is a keen walker and reader with a soft spot for animals of any kind. Stephen is 25 from Yorkshire and also works as an online tutor. He is a keen hiker and enjoys baking and outdoor activities. Together we love being outdoors and exploring, having spent months camping and hiking all over the UK and NZ including climbing the 3 highest peaks in the UK in summer 2022 and completing NZ’s Abel Tasman Great Walk in 2023.

We fully understand the importance of taking care of pets and looking after a home. We are extremely tidy and will take good care of any property we stay in just as if it were our own home. We are happy to take care of the home and garden and do day to day tasks to look after it while you are away. We are non smokers and non drinkers.

We are incredibly excited about the opportunity to look after some animals/homes during our time in Canada!
