We need a house sitter

Vancouver Coast & Mountains - Greater Vancouver

Matt

Angus:
Angus is a rescue dog originally from Mexico. He then went to a Californian kill shelter before being brought to Chilliwack. Now he is here in Vancouver! We think he is a mix of Jack Russell, Italian Greyhound and Beagle, probably along with some other breeds.

He absolutely adores people and he will be very affectionate and playful! He will usually walk for however long you want him to (unless it’s raining) and he will also play for however long you want him to! He does not care for the rain and moves slowly in the heat. He is generally quiet although he will give a terrier bark if he’s surprised. He’s a loving playful boy and shouldn’t cause you any problems. He’s house trained and has a solid grasp of most basic commands. He does not have good recall and we would not suggest taking him to an off-leash park.

Angus is generally friendly towards dogs in the area that he knows, particularly small and medium sized dogs. However, he is dog selective and can have a strong dislike for certain larger dogs such as poodles, shepherds, bernese and some other long hailed breeds. He can be reactive towards them and it’s best to cross the street and keep some space from them. Until you become familiar with his body language it’s generally best to avoid close contact with other dogs whilst out on walks.

Angus requires 3 walks a day, usually either his lunchtime or evening walk being a bit longer to get his exercise in. If it is wet or very cold he won’t be too interested in going outside other than to do his business, unless there is snow which he loves to roll around in. He’s comfortable at home napping on the sofa or on his mat and can be left alone 4-5 hours without any issues.

The Apartment:
We have a comfortable one-bedroom apartment on a quiet residential street in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver. There is a large private wooden patio with outdoor sofas and some plants for those good weather days, with a gate that leads out into a small communal garden and onto the alley. The apartment was updated a few years ago and is comfortably furnished, coming with fast wifi and Sonos speakers. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, there is a dishwasher, smoothie blender, coffee grinder and maker. There is no microwave, but the kitchen is well equipped and should have everything that you need for your stay.

The building is located in the brewery district just a couple of blocks from some excellent breweries - Main Street Brewing, Brassneck, Red Truck - as well many great restaurants that can be found all up Main Street and in Olympic Village. It’s a short 10-min walk to Main St Science World Skytrain which will take you into downtown Vancouver and a short stroll to pick up the seawall in Olympic Village

We can make our Mobi bike share membership available whilst you’re staying - there are multiple docking stations nearby. There is an underground secured parking stall that we can also make available if needed. There’s a few plants that might need a splash of water whilst we are away but other than that it should all be fairly low maintenance.

Thanks!
Matt, Gareth & Angus
